  1. Late Night at Berk and Worcester

When you’re stressed out beyond belief or you have the midnight munchies, the dining hall is closed, where else are you supposed to go but Late Night? Late Night at Berkshire and Worcester offer a wide variety of comfort foods and all of your favorite desserts. Students flood the doors each night once the clock strikes 9pm, to indulge in the Late Night experience!

  2. Procrastination Station in the W.E.B. Du Bois Library

The Procrastination Station - it doesn’t need much of an explanation, it is practically your favorite place during finals and your best friend during an all-nighter. The People’s Organic Café in the library offers the best in coffee and espresso drinks, plus all natural, organic salads, sandwiches and more. Whether you stop by for a study break or for a delicious latte on your way out, you won’t be disappointed!

  3. The Extremely Valuable YCMP Swipes Accompanied with your Meal Plan

We all have those days where we’re craving the buffalo chicken mac and cheese from the Hatch, a fresh smoothie at the Courtside Café after a long workout at the Rec Center, a sizzling taco salad from the Market Place Café, or even a fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil panini from the French Meadow Café. With YCMP swipes, you’re able to spend $9.50 at any of your favorite retail dining locations throughout campus.

  4. 24/7 Roots Café

No, it’s not too good to be true; Roots Café is open 24/7! Located in the Commonwealth Honors College, Roots Café is the first 24/7 retail dining location on campus featuring fresh, made from scratch, artisan pizza, mac and cheese, locally sourced organic salads and delicious  gourmet sandwiches sure to please every student!

  5. Warm, Gooey, Fresh-out-the-Oven Chocolate Chip Cookies

C’mon, we all know you’ve done it; even the healthiest eaters must admit. You’ve waited in line for the fresh-out-the-oven, hot chocolate chip cookies as they are served practically right into your hand off the cookie sheet. It’s the best part of your day and the perfect dessert after any meal. These savory, whole-wheat chocolate chip cookies can’t be beat as they melt in your mouth.

  6. Surf and Turf Meal for Halloween

If it wasn’t already your favorite holiday at UMass, it most definitely will be after having a delicious surf and turf meal for dinner. Savory flank steak and a fresh lobster with melted butter will be the best part of your Halloween celebrations! And contrary to popular belief, although he’s everyone’s favorite comedian, Bill Cosby is not the beneficiary to all of our precious lobsters.

  7. Breakfast on the Run and Grab ‘n Go Lunch

Having a busy class schedule doesn’t always allow time for a sit-down meal for lunch or breakfast, so UMass Dining has Breakfast on the Run and Grab ‘n Go Lunch options each day. There’s nothing better than rolling out of bed 15 minutes before class, walking to the dining hall, grabbing breakfast on the go, and arriving to class on time with a full stomach to take on the day! If you don’t have time to sit and eat lunch, your favorite dining hall meals can be found at Grab ‘n Go to take with you to your next class or even up to your dorm.

  8. We’ve Won Multiple World Records

Over the past four years, UMass Dining has made World Record History! In September of 2010 UMass broke the record for the World’s Longest California Roll, measuring 422 feet. On Labor Day in 2011, UMass Dining, along with hundreds of volunteers, created the World’s Largest Stir-Fry weighing in at 4,010 pounds. But we didn’t stop there! In 2012, UMass Dining created the World’s Largest New England Seafood Stew, which weighed over 6,656 pounds. Just this past year we created the World’s Largest Fresh Fruit Salad weighing in at 15,000 pounds, using a variety of 150, locally sourced fruits. Needless to say, students must be wondering what 2014 will bring in the record breaking books!

  9. Baby Berk & Baby Berk 2 Food Trucks

UMass Dining doesn’t just serve great food in our dining halls - they bring it right outside our dorms, to the library after we’ve been studying for hours, and to sporting events after we’ve been cheering on the Minutemen. Both Baby Berk (@UMassBabyBerk) and Baby Berk 2 (@UMassBabyBerk2) were made just for students, to make dining with UMass that much easier! With the wide varieties of specialty burgers and melts from Baby Berk and street-food-inspired Asian fusion tacos from Baby Berk 2, these food trucks are sure to hit the spot.

  10. We Have the Oldest House in Amherst, the UClub

Did you know UMass has the oldest house in Amherst, located right on its campus? That’s right! The University Club and Restaurant (@UMass_UClub) sits right in the middle of campus, serving up delicious gourmet meals to faculty and staff, alum, and students. The UClub is housed in two colonial era New England farmhouses. The Boltwood-Stockbridge House, built in 1728, is the original site of the UClub and the oldest house in Amherst. Every dining experience at the UClub is enriched in historic background and a hearty New England inspired meal.

  11. There’s a Coffee Shop or Retail Dining Location Around Every Corner of Campus

Ever noticed how almost every major building has either a coffee shop or a retail dining location in it? Whether it’s the Hatch in the Student Union, a Starbucks at the ISB Café, or the Procrastination Station in the Library, UMass Dining works hard to make sure students have access to retail dining. You don’t always have to be near the closest dining hall to enjoy the wide variety of dining that UMass Dining offers.

  12. A Sushi-Lovers Dream Come True

For all you sushi lovers out there, UMass Dining has made all your wildest dreams a reality: endless sushi - every night! Each dining hall offers all you can eat sushi at dinner, with a wide variety of selections freshly customized just for you.
