Coronavirus Update: UMass Dining Operations FAQ

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: UMASS DINING OPERATIONS FAQ
UMass Dining is committed to the health & safety of our students, faculty and staff. We are following guidelines set by our local, state and national health officials; we routinely monitor our dining facilities; we have implemented additional sanitation measures to ensure customer safety; and we are in constant contact with the campus community.

HOURS OF OPERATION
Q: What campus dining locations are open?
A: The following locations are currently open and ready to serve you!

  • Worcester Dining Commons (Monday – Sunday, 7am – 9pm)
  • Berkshire Dining Commons (Monday – Sunday, 7am – 9pm)
  • Blue Wall (Sunday – Friday, 8am – 9pm & Saturday, 8am – 7pm)

FAQ
Q: Can I still use my UMass Dining meal plan?
A: Yes, UMass Dining meal plans are still active for the spring 2020 semester.
Q: Can I dine in with friends?
A: Unfortunately no, we are promoting social distancing to ensure the safety of our guests and staff; at this time we are only allowing Grab ‘n Go and Take Out orders.
Q: What menu is available for Grab ‘N Go and Takeout orders?
A: UMass Dining continues to serve award-winning meals at our open locations, you will be given a compostable To-Go container for orders. To view current menus, please download and view the UMass Dining App HERE.
Q: What steps are your employees doing to ensure the health & safety of our community?
A: In collaboration with the university Health Services Inspection team, we are practicing the following protocol at all locations, open and closed.

  • To Go only options in all locations
  • Limited guest counts and must present a UMass ID to enter
  • Frequent Hand-Washing
  • Increased surface cleaning
  • Social Distancing
  • Encouraging staff who feel unwell to stay home
  • Promoting best practices via digital screens and employee video tutorials

Q: What is the policy about unused meal swipes?
A: We are evaluating student meal plan balances and will provide information as soon as possible.
Q: What if I am food insecure and need assistance?
A: UMass Dining has a No Student Goes Hungry Meal Policy. For students who are not on a meal plan, we have a supplemental meal swipe program that provides immediate assistance to any UMass undergraduate student experiencing food insecurity.
