• Installed 5 educational permaculture gardens on campus that provide organic, healthy fruits and vegetables to the Dining Commons each year
• Source 30% local produce, including some from the UMass Student Farm Enterprise
• Leverage broader institutional change to achieve our Real Food Campus Commitment.
• Receive funds from the Kendall Foundation to transform our food service program into the leading model for sustainability through regional procurement.
• Compost 100% food waste in the dining commons – that’s nearly 1,200 tons of organic material per year!
