Dad’s Favorite Cake...According to Nana

INGREDIENTS
Makes 1 (8-inch) cake
1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1⁄2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon white distilled vinegar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup cold water
PREPARATION
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, salt, oil, vinegar, vanilla and water. Pour into an 8-inch square baking dish.
3. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, about 40 minutes. Let cool in the pan 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
