Dear Family and Friends
Your Award-winning UMass Dining Services is proud to publish its 9th edition of the Taste of Home Cookbook, comprised of many wonderful and delectable recipes from parents, guest chefs, and vendors. I would like to thank everyone who submitted their favorite dishes to us this year. We look forward to using your special recipes at UMass and sharing them with food lovers far and wide.
We all know the truth that simple food and home cooking is hard to beat. UMass has a strong culture of serving healthy, sustainable and delicious food. In the 2016 Taste of Home Cookbook, we have more than 160 recipes; many of which come with a personal story from our UMass parents and friends with health in mind. UMass chefs have tested the recipes and many of those submitted are being incorporated into our Dining Commons’ menus.
Again this year, Mala Subbaswamy, our Chancellor’s wife has contributed one of her favorite recipes, and we are especially grateful for her support!
Great news!...if you haven’t already heard, UMass Amherst has the best dining program in the nation. UMass Dining Services is now ranked #1 “Best Campus Food” by the Princeton Review’s 2017 edition. We are on a mission to support the local and regional food systems and raise the bar of campus dining. Of course, our program wouldn’t be the same without your involvement, so we thank you for your kind support. When you dine at UMass, you dine with family, as we are all part of the wider UMass community. I look forward to seeing you soon!
Go UMass!
