WOODEN SPOON
APPLE CAKE
GOVONI FAMILY, SHREWSBURY, MA
INGREDIENTS
Serves 6 to 8
2 cups all-purpose lour 1 cup granulated sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 large eggs 2 teaspoons vanilla extract 3 cups peeled, cored and diced apples 1/2 cup chopped walnuts 1/2 cup chocolate chips
“This recipe is a fall favorite in our home. As soon as the Mac apples are ready to be picked, it’s of to Tougas Farm to pick them and then home to bake this cake.” Liza Govoni
PREPARATION
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Buter and lour a Bundt pan, shaking out the excess lour.
2. In a large bowl, mix together all of the cake ingredients with a wooden spoon. Pour into the prepared pan and tap the pan to evenly distribute the bater.
3. Bake for 1 hour or unil a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
