3. Meanwhile, open the cans of hominy, pour into a fine- mesh sieve and rinse under running water to remove the froth. After the stew has cooked for 1 hour, stir in the hominy and cook until the hominy has soaked up the flavor of the sauce, 5 to 10 minutes more.
4. Sprinkle cilantro on top and serve with tortillas and a salad.
