Mom's Stuffed Peppers

“This was my mom’s recipe and she has passed on, so it is special to our family. Everyone loves these stuffed peppers. They have a slightly Italian slant, and my mom was Italian.” — Charlotte Hebert
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a bowl, stir together the ground tur- key, egg, bread crumbs and cheese. Place the bell pepper halves on a baking sheet and fill with the ground turkey mixture. Drizzle the tops of the peppers with oil.
3. Roast until the tops of the peppers are browned, about 45 minutes.
Ingredients
Serves 6
1 pound lean ground turkey 1 large egg
1⁄2 cup Italian-flavored bread crumbs
1⁄2 cup grated Romano cheese
6 green bell peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
Olive oil
