Dear Family and Friends
Award-winning UMass Dining Services is proud to publish its 10th edition of the Taste of Home Cookbook, comprised of wonderful and delectable recipes from parents, alumni, guest chefs and vendors. I would like to thank everyone who submit- ted their favorite dishes to us this year. We look forward to using your special recipes at UMass and sharing them with food lovers far and wide. This is our best cookbook yet.
We all know the truth that simple food and home cooking is hard to beat. In the 2017/2018 Taste of Home Cookbook, we have more than 200 recipes; many of which come with a personal story from our UMass parents and friends. UMass chefs have tested a great number of the recipes submitted and many of those are being incorporated into our Dining Commons’ menus.
Again this year, Mala Subbaswamy, our Chancellor’s wife has contributed one of her favorite recipes - Cauliflower Masala, and we are grateful that she was willing to share this with us.
Great news! UMass Amherst Dining Services has the best dining program. Our Dining Services and has been ranked #1 in the nation by the Princeton Review for the second consecutive year. Our mission is to raise the bar of campus dining and to support the local and regional food system with our peers. Of course, our program wouldn’t be the same without your involvement, so we thank you for your kind support. When you dine at UMass, you dine with family, as we are all part of the broader UMass community. I look forward to seeing you soon!
Go UMass!
