This is a Breslau Family favorite recipe! It is the perfect accompaniment to your tailgate party on a cool, crisp fall day prior to a Minuteman football game. It is hearty and rich with a good spicy kick yet balanced with a wonderful sweetness.
INGREDIENTS
2 1⁄4 lb. brisket, trimmed of most of the fat, cut into 1⁄2” cubes
Olive oil, enough to coat the bottom of pan
1 14 1⁄2 oz. can of Trader Joe’s diced tomatoes with sliced green chilis
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 medium onions, two diced; one chopped
1 package of Dale Fowler’s 2-Alarm Chili Mix or Carroll Shelby’s Chili Mix (omit salt packet) 3 tbsp. spicy brown mustard
1⁄2 cup of bold and spicy BBQ sauce
1⁄4 cup of ketchup
1 tsp. chili garlic sauce or Siracha sauce
1 bottle of your favorite bold beer
10 oz. or so of cold water
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp. kosher salt
1⁄2 tbsp. fresh ground pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. paprika
1⁄2 tsp. oregano
1⁄4 cup honey, or more to taste
2 tsp. hot sauce
1 15 oz. can of red kidney beans
White rice or tortilla chips for serving
2-3 chopped green onions or chopped chives for garnish
