This is a special recipe because it combines two of our favorite foods in one
dish- Indian food & Chinese food. This fusion of two different countries’ ingredients mixed into one dish, turns out to be very delicious. It is our Family’s favorite and it is also very healthy.
INGREDIENTS
1 12 oz. packet of tofu cut into small pieces
10 oz. mushrooms cut into small pieces
2 bell peppers chopped into small pieces
1 medium size red onion chopped into small pieces 1 tbsp. ginger
1 tbsp. garlic paste
2 medium-size tomatoes chopped into small pieces One bunch Thai basil finely chopped
1 tbsp. stir-fry sauce
1 tbsp. teriyaki sauce
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. turmeric powder
1 tbsp. curry powder
INSTRUCTIONS
1. In a medium cooking pan, over medium heat, stir in onions and ginger garlic paste. Cook until golden brown, and then stir in all the powders & sauces.
2. Cook for 2-3 minutes, then add tomatoes and let simmer until softened.
3. When tomatoes have softened, add the tofu, mushrooms and peppers but NOT basil.
4. Cook for 10-15 minutes until it’s done. Tofu, mushrooms, peppers don’t require too long cooking. Right before serving, sprinkle chopped basil. Serve it with any kind of rice – usually basmati rice or sticky rice.
