Apple Crisp

INGREDIENTS PREPARATION
Serves 12
4 cups sliced peeled apples
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
1⁄4 cup water
1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
1⁄2 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1 cup granulated sugar
1⁄3 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. But- ter an 8-inch square baking dish.
2. In a bowl, toss together the apples, 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon, the salt and wa- ter. Transfer to the prepared baking dish.
3. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, oats, sugar and the remaining 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Work the butter into the flour mixture until crumbly. Drop the topping mixture over the apples.
4. Bake until the topping is crisp and golden brown and the apples are tender, about 45 minutes. Serve warm.
