Ingredients
Serves 8
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats
1⁄4 to 1⁄2 cup maple syrup, or to taste
1⁄3 cup brown rice flour
1⁄2 cup raisins
1⁄2 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped
1⁄3 cup melted salted butter or vegetable oil
3⁄4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
7 to 10 medium tart baking apples, cored and sliced
Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)
Apple Crisp

Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly oil a 9- by 13-inch baking dish.
2. In a bowl, stir together the oats, maple syrup, brown rice flour, raisins, walnuts or pecans, butter and cinnamon until well combined. Place the apples in the prepared baking dish. Spread the oat mixture over the apples; it will not completely cover all of the apples.
3. Bake until the apples are soft and the oats are lightly brown, about 45 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream, if desired.
