The recipe is adapted from King Arthur Flour. These bars are easy to grab and enjoy. They are sturdy and travel well, and they are a great sharable treat and easily adaptable.
INGREDIENTS
1 2⁄3 cups rolled oats
1⁄3 cup oat flour
3⁄4 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp. light corn syrup (or Lyle’s Golden syrup)
2 tbsp. melted butter **the sugar + corn syrup + melted butter = sticky bun sugar 1⁄2 tsp. salt
1⁄4+ tsp. ground cinnamon, optional
2-3 cups dried fruits and nuts, chopped/diced, *see below
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1⁄4 cup melted butter or vegetable oil (I use coconut oil)
1⁄4 cup honey or maple syrup
1 tbsp. water
