PASTA WITH SAUSAGE
INGREDIENTS
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 16 oz. box pasta
2 sticks butter, divided
6 tbsp. all-purpose flour
4 cups milk
1 lb. kielbasa sausage, diced
16 oz. cheese 1 1⁄2 tbsp. salt
Breadcrumbs, as needed
1 Boil water in large pot; add oil and salt. Cook pasta according to package directions.
2 In a pan, melt 1 stick of butter. Stir in flour until a relatively hard paste has formed. Slowly add milk to the paste until a smooth white sauce is created.
3 In a separate pan, add a small amount of butter and the diced sausage. Cook until cooked through.
4 In a deep dish, layer ingredients in this order: pasta, cheese, sauce, sausage, finish with cheese and sprinkle a layer of breadcrumbs on top.
5 Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes.
Serves 4.
