Homemade Salsa
DeSousa Family, Wappingers Falls, NY
“You can omit ingredients you may not care for, such as jalapeño. I really like this recipe because the salsa is not watery like you get in the jar.” Donna DeSousa
INGREDIENTS Makes about 3 cups
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (20-ounce) can whole tomatoes, drained
1 can (4 ounces) chopped chiles
1 teaspoon granulated sugar 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
1 jalapeño pepper, chopped 4 green onions, chopped Chips or crackers, for serving
PREPARATION
1.
In a blender or food pro- cessor, combine the garlic, tomatoes, chiles, sugar, salt and as little or as much jalapeño as you like. Blend or process 3 times (not
too much or the salsa will become watery). Stir in the green onions.
Serve the salsa with chips or crackers.
