“This recipe was created by my grandmother, so it reminds us of many good times.”
INGREDIENTS
1 stick butter, softened 3⁄4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 bananas, mashed 1⁄2 cup buttermilk
1 1⁄2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup chopped walnuts

BANANA BREAD
1 Cream together butter and sugar.
2 Add eggs, vanilla, bananas and milk, and combine.
3 Mix together flour, oatmeal and baking soda. Add to butter mixture and combine well. Add chopped nuts.
4 Pour batter into loaf pan. Bake at 350°F for 55 minutes.
Serves 12.
Note: You can also split mixture into 2 loaf pans to make shorter loaves. If so, reduce baking time to 30 minutes.
