For over 40 years the UMass Bakeshop has been providing fresh baked items to the campus community at large. Simon Stevenson, UMass’ first ever Pastry Chef continues the tradition today with an eclectic selection of fine American and European breads and pastries.
Located in the Hampden building the UMass Bakeshop is the largest campus bakeshop on the east coast of the United Sates and provides baked items for 30,000 people daily. Recognized as one of the best campus bakeries in the country the team of Chefs and Bakers are highly trained individuals with a collective baking experience of over 170 years.
We were one of the first bakeries in Massachusetts to go “trans fat free” and in a continuing effort to provide the very best baked goods that not only look good but taste great and are good for your body we make use of white whole wheat flour in as much as 35% of our baked items.
